Recently, for CaseCAD, I used PHP and curl to provide a seamless purchasing experience beginning within the CaseCAD Windows desktop application, running through a customized ShopSite installation, and ending on a Drupal website.  This replaced a system that involved manually processing emailed purchase orders.
